The Cobia™ Router module provides basic and advanced IP network routing functions. Cobia Router can be used to create and manage static routes in Cobia. It can be used for networks that also need advanced router protocols, RIPv2 and BGPv2 support distribution of route information between Cobia nodes or between Cobia nodes and 3rd party routers. The Router dashboard displays a dynamically updated ingress and egress traffic flow on Cobia network interfaces.

Cobia Router utilizes the Xorp, open-source router engine, to perform advanced routing. Through the Cobia Router web management console, BGP and RIP can be configured to share route information between network devices. OSPFv4, supported natively by Xorp, will be supported in a future release of Cobia. For networks that do not require use of an advanced routing protocol, the network interface configuration of the Admin module can be used to set IP and gateway information.

Cobia Router currently supports layer 3 routing over 10/100/1000 ethernet network interfaces. Support for T1 connects will be supported in future releases.
